<br />Mrs. Harms (pg. 3) <br /> <br />At the present time, the Bradley Firm is asking for a utility variance, but are you aware that Har Mar <br />Mall is built on an old lake bed and the draining ditches on the north end are not adequate to take all of <br />the runoff during heavy storms and many of the neighboring yards are flooded, and the Bradley <br />Company wants to eliminate them and have drainage ditches only on the south end. <br /> <br />In a compromise situation, even a 30 foot high wooden fence along the east and south sides of the chain <br />link fence, such as those used on fteeways to curb the noise, and shorter delivery hours until only 10 <br />p.m., will not compensate for the health and disturbance, but would at least show that our City <br />Government and Planning Commission are concerned about the residents. <br /> <br />The Mall should consider up-grading its choice of merchants instead of a "discount mall." I have seen <br />many such malls, such as Oakdale, the Hub in Minneapolis, Southtown, and even in Phoenix, Arizona, <br />close because of the lack of an ambitious owner to keep the mall an attractive one. <br /> <br />I am grateful for your consideration of the above.
