/7 * l " Extract of Minutes of Meeting of the City Council of the City of Roseville * * * * * * * * * * * Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a special meeting of the City Council of the City of Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota, was duly called and held at the City Hall on Friday, the 22nd day of March, at 6:30 P.M. The following members were present: Mastel, Goedeke, Maschka, Wall and the following voted against the same: Wiski Council Member Wall introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: _",(1 !Jt!3/ c-~ Resolution No~ 0 1()2.A # OIL ~ Resolution Extending the Review t2iOd for [)j Triangle Warehouse, 2523 Walnut Street, Minor Subdivision Proposal ~ (PF31 05) ( WHEREAS, Triangle Warehouse, 2523 Walnut Street, has requested a minor subdivision to purchase a piece of the Burlington Northern Railroad right-of-way and attach it to the five acres located south of the rail line, and WHEREAS, Burlington Northern Railroad has filed notice of vacation of portions of the right-of-way in Roseville; and WHEREAS, a 180 day public review period that began in January 1999 allowing public agencies an opportunity to review and comment on the proposed abandonment action and determine the public's interests thereby allowing staff review of Roseville's interest in retaining the BN railroad right-of-way; and WHEREAS, the City's 1998 Comprehensive Plan states that the City should: Provide input into the rail corridor planning and abandonment processes. If rails are to be removed, the corridors should be preserved for public uses such as light rail or pathways. a) If there is a rail line abandonment in Roseville, an appropriate public agency should acquire the land for public purposes. b) Light rail planning should receive input from Roseville. Roseville should preserve potential rights-of-way and station locations and identify possible routes for tributary bus service. c) Identify and work with the decision-makers on approved LRT routes in Roseville. :)/t\1 ~'-6- f1
