JUL-29-1999 11: 16

CITY OF VADNA I 5 HGTS

612 429 8282 P.19/26

...... ~ ~ . "!.~.: .

__~~ VADNAIS SQUARE, LLC
· ' VADNAIS SQUARE
COMPREHENSIVE RECYCLING PLAN
July 18, 1997

.~.

.

Vadnais Square is being developed in phases, with the first phase
being a Target store, with related infrastructure necessary to
acco~odate the first phase of development. This phase is reaching
completion in July of 1997.

In regard to the Vadnais Square as a whole, Developer wilt support
the city as the city encouraqes each tenant in the development to
recycle as much as practical.

Developer will encourage the planning for appropriate space and
containers to be available in the screened trash receptacle areas,
or other appropriate locations, for recycling materials.

Target, for example, does have a policy for paper recyclinq. In
each store they install a corrugated materials baler for paper
recycling. An average store generates 20 bales of corrugated
material each week (750 lbs. each). Baler and bales are located
inside the Target store.

As successive phases of Vadnais Square are opened in the future,
Developer will remind the future tenants to assess their recycling
potential~ and to do what they can to recycle whenever and whatever
is possible.

Presumably, in the case of the smaller shops, this would involve
a number of them recycling- jointly in a central recycling area
behind the small shops. The larger anchors will be large enough to
have their own individual recycling programs, as is the case with
the Target store.

-

---

.

3433 Broadway St. NE, Suite 215A
Minneapolis, Minnesota 55413
Telephone (612) .178-0836 FAX (612) 378-0622
