<br />and emergency utility or maintenance activities, or unless completely screefled <br />by a building at least Ii' iR height. No permanent storage of snow shall occmr <br />\vithin 300 feet of a residential area. Except in the case of emergency, all snow <br />removal operations within 300 feet of an adiacent residential district shall be <br />undertaken consistent with a snow management plan that must be submitted to <br />and approved by the City. The plan must include measures to minimize <br />removal activity during the hours of 10 p.m. and 7 a.m. consistent with public <br />safety requirements. The plan must also address the location and management ~' <br />of short-term and long-term storage of snow on-site and off-site. <br /> <br />1. Equipment Restrictions: All ground-mounted or roof-mounted equipment, <br />automatic doors, speaker systems, gas pumps, car washes, vehicle vacuum <br />cleaners, air hoses, or other noise sources within 300 feet of a residential area <br />must be completely screened to a point 5' above the first floor of adjacent <br />residences. Outdoor speaker systems or other public address systems which <br />can be heard outside are not allowed to be used between the hours of 10:00 <br />p.m. and 7:00 a.m. within 300' of a residential district, even if screened. <br /> <br />1. Lighting: The height of light poles and fixtures shall comply with subsection <br />1010.12, and shall not exceed a height of twelve (12) feet within fifty (50) feet <br />of a residential property line, twenty-five (25) feet within 100' of a residential <br />property line. Light poles or fixtures may be a maximum of forty (40) feet tall <br />if more than 100' from a residential property line and if completely screened <br />by building, berm, or landscape material with a minimum opacity of 90% to <br />eye level view of living spaces in homes within 300' of light source. All lights <br />not reasonably required for security or business operation must be turned off <br />between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and sunrise, or operated by motion detectors <br />so that they only turn on when there is activity nearby and turn off shortly <br />thereafter. <br /> <br />K. Other Requirements: <br /> <br />1. Certain Businesses in Shopping Center Districts to be Enclosed: <br />All business, storage, service, repair or processing, box and crate <br />storage or merchandise display shall be conducted wholly within <br />an enclosed building or behind a solid fence not less than five feet <br />(5') high except as allowed in subsection 1005.010.
