City Center Task Force
Meeting #9 Notes

April 15. 1999

1. Call to Order: Chair Keith Wietecki called the meeting to order at 6:35 p.m. in
the Council Chambers of City Hall.

2. Present: Chair Keith Wietecki, Vice Chair Lois Sinn Lindquist, Pat Johnson,
Don Anderson, Scott Bergs, Jan Vanderwall, Joseph Smith, Perrie Heider, Peggy
Egli

Staff: Kim Way, Dennis Welsch, Sgt. Mike Palermo, Bob Murphy
Council: Barb Mastel

3. March meeting notes: Approved, with Chair Keith Wietecki being present.

4. Chair Keith Wietecki described the need to respond to the planning procedures. If
the Task Force proceeds without amendments to the Comprehensive Plan, there
may be a waste of time or usurp the public process. It will take three to four
months to proceed through the public review. Chair Keith Wietecki will update
the City Council on Monday, April 19th. He will ask for further direction.

Pat Johnson noted that at some point the Task Force will invite input from the
interest groups and residents. Could this be moved to the Planning Commission
for hearings? Could the boundary be sent to the Planning Commission. Peggy
Egli felt the interest groups could add more detail to the uses needed/desired on
the site.

Don Anderson suggested that interest groups should be involved early; perhaps to
move forward on the geography and the improvements. This is an opportunity to
gain input on "the sense of place". The drawings and the new text will help
describe the site.

~~
0\~'
