<br />, Category C: Compact mixed residential development. redevelopment or infill: <br /> <br />o Residential development that includes a mix of housing types at different sales <br />and/or rent levels. <br /> <br />Locations: Area 1: Minneapolis, St. Paul, and first-ring suburbs, Area 2: Developing <br />Urban Communities, Area 3: Rural Growth Centers. <br /> <br />CateQory [): Cluster HousinQ in the Urban Reserve: <br /> <br />o Cluster housing as interim uses until full urbanization occurs around them. <br /> <br />Category E: Planning and Predevelopment Proposals <br /> <br />o Proposals for conducting planning and other predevelopment activities to shape <br />projects fitting Categories A, B, C or D. <br /> <br />Proposals will be grouped for evaluation against the selection criteria (Part II) in these <br />categories (and locations within categories), so that proposals will be evaluated against <br />others that are similar in type and location. <br /> <br />It is the prerogative of the Livable Communities Advisory Committee to recommend, and <br />the Metropolitan Council to determine the number and amount of awards. The Council may <br />award less than the total available amount of $5 million, and in addition, up to $1.5 million <br />in supplemental funding to support and enhance transit use in mixed-use transit-oriented <br />proposals (Category A, described above). <br /> <br />The Metropolitan Council may make grants or loans in all of the categories, or to one or <br />more projects in some of the categories. <br /> <br />BONUS POINTS <br /> <br />Bonus points will be awarded to encourage municipalities or counties to work together on <br />issues of mutual concern: <br />-~ <br />10 points ~;p ~ulticommunity efforts: Proposals for a project involving two <br />~ or more jurisdictions (municipalities or counties) in a <br />~ coordinated effort to jointly plan land use implementation <br />\) projects in a transportation corridor.
