<br />Industrial Districts <br /> <br />1, 1-1 LiQht I ndustrial District <br /> <br />The 1-1 Light Industrial District is designed to primarily accommodate wholesale business <br />activities, bio-technical and biomedical activities, integrated office and high tech computer <br />hardware and software design and assembly, and industrial operations whose external, <br />physical effects are restricted to the area of the district and in no manner affect in a <br />detrimental way any of the surrounding districts, The 1-1 District permits, along with any <br />specified uses, the manufacturing, compounding, processing, packaging, assembly, <br />and/or treatment of finished or semifinished products from previously prepared material. <br />The processing of raw material for shipment in bulk form, to be used in an industrial <br />operation at another location, is generally not permitted. The 1-1 Light Industrial District is <br />intended for certain areas designated as I Industrial areas in the Comprehensive Plan. <br /> <br />2. 1-2 General Industrial District <br /> <br />The General Industrial District is designed primarily for manufacturing, assembling, and <br />fabrication activities including large scale or specialized industrial or motor freight <br />operations, whose external physical effects will be felt to some degree by surrounding <br />districts. The 1-2 District is structured to permit the manufacturing, processing and <br />compounding of semi-finished or finished products from raw material as well as from <br />previously prepared material. The 1-2 General Industrial District is intended for certain <br />areas designated as I Industrial areas in the Comprehensive Plan, <br /> <br />3. 1-2A Modified General Industrial District <br /> <br />The Modified Industrial District is designed primarily for general industrial uses, but offers <br />an opportunity for collecting and processing of inorganic materials and industrial wastes. <br />It is a complementary and supportive use area to the general industrial uses, The 1-2A <br />Modified General Industrial District is intended for certain areas designated as I Industrial <br />areas in the Comprehensive Plan. <br /> <br />Q:\Zoning\DISTRICTS ESTABLlSHED,final.doc <br /> <br />Page 5 of 5 <br />
