<br />REQUEST FOR PLANNING COMMISSION ACTION <br />Date: 01/12/00 <br />Item No: <br /> <br />Department Approval: <br /> <br />~ID .. <br />tern eSCrIptlOn: <br /> <br />Agenda Section: <br />Public Hearings <br /> <br />Adoption of Annual (1999) Comprehensive Plan Revisions (PF3174) <br /> <br />Manager Approval: <br /> <br />1.0 BACKGROUND <br /> <br />1.1 Each year in December/January the Roseville Planning Commission and City Council <br />affirm the Comprehensive Plan changes that have occurred during the previous year. (The <br />Comprehensive Plan was rewritten and adopted in September 1994.) During the year, <br />public hearings are held on all plan changes before they are approved by the Commission <br />and Council. Most amendments (see examples below) are then sent to the Metropolitan <br />Council for their review, comment, and approval. <br /> <br />1.2 In order to keep track of amendments to the Plan, the Planning Commission has annually <br />scheduled the affirmation of the changes and inclusion of the changes on an addenda <br />sheet in the front of the plan. From last year, the 1998 Metro Council review of the City's <br />Plan is nearing completion. From this year (1999) no goals or policies have changed, <br />except as noted below. All revised maps are dated January 24,2000. <br /> <br />2.0 COMPREHENSIVE PLAN REVISIONS - A chart of the entire plan, sections, and <br /> <br />appendices is incorporated in the front of the Plan. <br /> <br />2.1 Zoning Map (Section 1) - Illustrates all land use zoning designations based on City <br />approvals to January 24, 2000, including a spreadsheet breakdown of each <br />designation by area and percent of total city land area. <br /> <br />2.2 Demographics (Section 2) - The demographic profile has been updated where statistics <br />are available. New demographics are available through a collaboration of the City, the <br />Roseville and Mounds View School Districts, and the I-35W coalition. <br /> <br />2.3 Land Use. Existing Land Use Map (Section 4) - Illustrates existing land uses, including a <br />spreadsheet breakdown of each designation by area and percent of total City land area. <br />Comprehensive Plan Future Land Use Map (Section 4) - Illustrates all future land use <br />designations based on City approvals to January 24, 2000 including a spreadsheet <br /> <br />PF 3174 - RPCA (01/12/00) - Page 1 of 4 <br />
