Human Rights Commission Minutes <br />June 18, 2014 <br />Page 4 of 6 <br />Commissioner Thao suggested Commissioner Carey contact the League of Minnesota Cities and <br />see if they either offer this training or would be interested in partnering for this type of training. <br />Commissioner Carey stated she would continue to look into options for Civility Training because <br />this is an important topic and potentially have something available at a future meeting with a <br />potential training in 2015. <br />Chair Groff stated he would contact neighboring communities to see if they would be interested <br />in partnering with Roseville. <br />May 22 Dialogue <br />Commissioner Bachhuber stated the May 22 dialogue “White People Facing Race” had been <br />well attended and the participants would be interested in doing something again. <br />Ms. Collins stated there had been about 30 people in attendance and this was about the most that <br />could be accommodated for this type of format. <br />Commissioner Singleton stated he would like to see the Commission continue these types of <br />activities. <br />Commissioner Carey suggested a different name would have been more inviting to people. <br />Review of Calendar <br />Chair Groff reviewed the HRC calendar with the members present. <br />New Business <br />Chair’s Report <br />League of Human Rights Commissions <br />Chair Groff stated the League of Human Rights Commissions has not met since the last HRC <br />meeting. <br />Youth Commissioner Appointment Recommendation <br />The Commission had met with Gabe Cedarberg previously and discussed his background and <br />interest in the HRC. <br />Vice Chair Becker moved and Commissioner Bachhuber seconded a motion to recommend Gabe <br />The <br />Cedarberg to the City Council for appointment to the HRC as a Youth Commissioner. <br />motion passed unanimously. <br /> <br />
