<br />WHEREAS, A Roseville city election cannot be held In 2002 (City Attorney's <br />interpretation of Minnesota Statutes); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, An even-year local election ordinance has been adopted by the Roseville <br />City Council that changes no term of any sitting Councilmember; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Roseville City Council supports citizen efforts to bring the issue of <br />odd-year versus even-year city elections to a referendum; <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Roseville City Council hereby <br />1. Supports Ordinance # 1264 that moves Roseville city elections from <br />an odd-year to an even-year election cycle, and <br />2. Supports a voter referendum on November 5, 2002 that provides <br />Roseville voters with an opportunity to vote for or against even-year <br />elections for Roseville city government. <br /> <br />The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Member <br />Kough, and upon a vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor thereof: <br />Kough, Klausing, Schroeder, Maschka and Kysylyczyn, and the following voted against <br />the same: none. <br /> <br />WHEREUPON said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. <br />
