Part of <br />that project includes removing [he stockpiled concrete in the Kent Street Yard north of <br />Larpenteur A venue. <br /> <br />In February of this year the City of RosevilIe initiated an interim use permit application to allow <br />Ramsey County to crush and reuse that existing concrete. The crushed concrete would then be <br />used as aggregate base on this summers Larpenteur A venue construction project. An interim use <br />permit for this' operation was previously denied in 1998 and tabled in March 2000 pending a <br />discussion of cost savings resuJting from the crushing operations. <br /> <br />Based on our <:urrent contrad provisions and based on using only the existing stockpiled concrete <br />for aggregate base it is unlikely that crushing at the Kent Street Yard would result in any direct <br />cost savings. Because of this fact and because of past controversy SUlTounding the use of this site <br />for crushing the County is not requesting 10 use the Kent Street Yard for these operations. The <br />existing stockpile of concrete will be removed. <br /> <br />Thanks for your past cooperation and assistance on this project.
