<br />FAMILY ACADEMY <br /> <br />A 1(-8 Family Centered and Diverse Cri11'l1mmity of Learning <br /> <br />Introductory Statement <br /> <br />The Family Academy of Learning is a multi-age, non-profit Charter School serving <br />typical and non-typical students in the K-8 grades. Family Academy will offer an <br />environment for "real life" learning - a place \vhere students discover their own autonom:-' <br />and learn how to help each other. In order to achieve academic excellence we need to <br />educate and support the whole family. Parental support and involvement is essential to the <br />success of any program. We will encourage parents to be a vital part not only of their <br />student's education but the school community as a whole. <br />A before and after school extended day program will be offered to meet the needs of <br />working parents, <br />Family Academy aims to develop each student to his/her fullest potential while <br />enhancing and supporting the family lillit. <br /> <br />Mission and Vision <br /> <br />Mission Statement: <br /> <br />Family Academy welcomes fU11ilies that are academically, economically and <br />culturally diverse. \Ve are here to address the needs of students, so that in <br />turn their parents may be supported, educated, and guided in their very <br />important task of parenting. <br /> <br />Vision Statement: <br /> <br />vVe seek to impro\'e the li\'es of the students and their families. \Ve provide <br />high quality academic programming, enhancing the learning environments <br />and expanding collaborations between home, school and community. \eVe <br />will continually develop and implement ne\\' progran1 models to respond tlJ <br />changing community needs by conducting annual assessments of family, <br />student and Staff needs. <br /> <br />I ~cP <br />Cf-~ <br />
