./ On May 29th the junk and debris were removed o Weeds exceed 8" in height. ./ On May 27th the weeds were cut o The pylon sign is in need of repair. ./ On May 27th the pylon sign was removed along with the gas pumps. o The wooden soffit is missing sections. 1.5 The Property Manager has met with City staff and has indicated his intentions to complete all of the repairs by July 1st. 2.0 STAFF RECOMMENDATION 2.1 Staff recommends that the Council approve abatement of identified City Code violations with costs not to exceed 125% of estimates. 2.2 Staff further recommends actions toward repair not be commenced until after July 10,2001, in order for the property owner to perform the repair and avoid abatement. Any listed conditions still in violation on July 10, 2002 will be abated by the City and assessed to the property. 3.0 SUGGESTED COUNCIL ACTION 3.1 By resolution, authorize the Community Development Director to abate those City Code violations identified in this report which are still in violation as of July 10,2002, including: a) b) c) d) e) f) g) h) Secure two doors Repair structure (peeling paint) Repair wooden soffit (missing) Replace plastic light panels Remove cabinet and other debris Reposition pole sign wording Install panels on gas pumps Administration of abatement process (10%) completed by owner $2,000.00 750.00 2,500.00 completed by owner completed by owner completed by owner 525.00 $5,775.00 The above costs are estimates (the price quote obtained was not broken down). Charges are to be assessed to the property and payment on taxes per City Code 407.06- 407.07. A final report will be submitted to the City Council upon completion of all work.
