o Code compliance items in the rear yard area include: ./ Overgrown vegetation; ./ Vegetation and matter in the pool; ./ Junk/debris on property. 1.5 The property owner has met with City staff and indicated they wish to perform many of the repairs by contracting the work out. 2.0 STAFF RECOMMENDATION. 2.1 Staff recommends that the Council approve abatement of identified City Code violations with costs not to exceed those listed. 2.2 Staff further recommends actions toward repair not be commenced until after August 7, 2000, in order for the property owner to perform the repairs and avoid abatement. Any listed conditions still in violation on August 1, 2000 to be abated by the City (A report will be submitted to Council at the August 7, 2000 meeting with no City authorized work before that date). 3.0 SUGGESTED COUNCIL ACTION By resolution, authorize the Community Development Director to abate those City Code violations identified in this report which are still in violation as of August 1, 2000, including: 1) Re-roof entire structure $6,500 2) Repair soffits/trim 3,500 3) Repaint entire structure 6,000 4) Replace/repair broken windows, screens, doors 2,500 5) Remove junk/ debris from yard 500 6) Remove overgrown vegetation from yard and pool 2,500 7) Accessory buildings - replace doors, remove Debris, repaint 3,000 8) Administration (Attorney fees, Code enforcement inspections) 2,450 (10% estimate) TOTAL: $26,950 Costs are not to exceed those listed. Charges are to be assessed to the property and payment on taxes per City Code 407.06 - 407.07.
