Paschke. Thomas

From:
Sent:
To:
Subject:

Deborah Brown [debbrown@umn.edu]
Monday, April 29, 2002 10:44 PM
thomas.paschke@ci.roseville.mn.us
Lexington and Roselawn

Dear Mr. Paschke,

I live in a Rose Villa townhouse, 1066 Harriet Lane, that backs onto
Roselawn. I believe my home is the closest of any unit to the proposed
buildings for the corner of Lexington and Roselawn. As a resident who lives
very close to the proposed project, I feel my opinion should carry some
weight.

Because I have relatives visiting from out of town, I won't be able to
attend Wednesday's meeting. I did, however, attend the first meeting, and
felt the two storey buildings were clearly acceptable. In my opinion,
three storey buildings are not.

I would like to endorse the new proposal whereby the office building on the
corner remains the same as in the first plan, but the housing for people
with disabilities is set back an additional seven feet, allowing for
landscaping.

Because the intersection has a traffic light, I don't feel the office
building being closer to the street poses any safety hazzard. If it were
an uncontrolled intersection, that would be an issue.... but people will
either stop or go based on the light.

Please feel free to contact me if I can be of any assistance in this matter.

Deborah Brown
612-624-7491 (U of M Dept. of Horticultural Science)

Deborah Brown
Extension Horticulturist
University of Minnesota--

1
