<br />REQUEST FOR CITY COUNCIL ACTION <br /> <br /> <br />DATE: 08/28/00 <br />ITEM NO: 1-2 <br /> <br />Agenda Section: <br />LAND USE <br /> <br />Request by the Minnesota Waldorf School for a Interim Use Permit to allow <br />a temporary office trailer north of the school wing and directly adjacent <br />( west) to the parking lot of the Catholic Community of Corpus Christi, 2131 <br />Fairview Avenue. (PF3241) <br /> <br /> <br />1.0 REQUESTED ACTION <br /> <br />1.1 The Minnesota Waldorf School has submitted an application for an Interim Use Permit to <br />allow a temporary modular office trailer on the Catholic Community of Corpus Christi <br />property for a period not to exceed one year. <br /> <br />2.0 BACKGROUND <br /> <br />2.1 Section 1012.09A states: the City Council may authorize an interim use permit of <br />property. Interim use may not be consistent with the land uses designated on the adopted <br />Land Use Plan. They may also fail to meet all of the zoning standards established for the <br />district within which it is located. <br /> <br />2.2 Section 1012.09B states: the City Council may attach conditions to interim use permits. <br />In reviewing interim use permit applications, the City will establish a specific date or <br />event that will terminate the use on the property. The Council will also determine that <br />the approval of the interim use would not result in adverse effects on the public health, <br />safety and general welfare, and that it will not impose additional costs on the public if it <br />is necessary for the public to take the property in the future. <br /> <br />2.3 The Minnesota Waldorf School is currently constructing a school facility on County <br />Road "B" in Maplewood. The new facility will be available in January 2001 at which <br />time the Minnesota Waldorf School will vacate the Corpus Christi site. However, due to <br />spatial needs, they are requesting that a temporary trailer be approved for use by the <br />School Administrator, Office Manager, and Enrollment Coordinator. <br /> <br />2.4 Minnesota Waldorf School proposes two locations (Office "A" and Office "B") for the <br />temporary trailer. Proposed Office "A" would be located between the church sanctuary <br />and the classroom wing. Proposed Office "B" would be located north of the School wing <br />and directly adjacent to the school entrance and parking lot. <br /> <br />PF3241 - RCA (082800) - Page 1 of 4 <br />
