The HRC will receive and vote on the NRC’s recommendations.
The HRC hopes to give 3-4 awards in the initial year of this program. The number and
quality of the applications received will determine the final number of awardees.
After reviewing the nominations, the HRC might consider some means of acknowledging all
the nominees as people making positive efforts in our community.
Award Winners
Winners of the award will be notified via a phone call from the HRC Chair, followed by a
congratulatory letter from the HRC.
At minimum, awardees will be acknowledged at a City Council meeting and presented with a
certificate. The HRC will consider additional ways to acknowledge the awardees. For
example, we could make it a part of something larger going on in Roseville (i.e. Rosefest
Parade).
Notice of who has won the award will also be given to those who nominated them. These
nominators will be invited to the award presentation.
Official receipt of the award will be publicized in local newspapers, community websites such
as Nextdoor.org, the HRC homepage, and the City of Roseville’s website and social media.
Considerations for Nominee Evaluation:
Length and degree of contribution and service
Extent to which the contribution may be considered noteworthy
For example: Initiating something new vs. maintaining an existing effort. A
o
rare vs. commonly pursued cause. Addressing a widely recognized or high
import need within our community.
What obstacles, if any, did the nominee have to overcome?
Level of altruism
Extent to which the activity was done out of selfless concern for others.
o
Additional skills or actions to consider.
For example: Number of people the nominee engaged in assisting in this cause.
o
Exceptional creativity or resourcefulness employed by the nominee.
It is not essential that a nominee was totally successful in their endeavor.
The Nominee Evaluation Committee may consider other factors when determining the
awardees. These factors will be shared with the HRC prior to announcing whom they
recommend as awardees. This is a new award and process– we’re sure to encounter
unforeseen evaluation factors.
