t

Attachment A to Setback Permit Application for 2737 Lakeview Avenue

12b. Listing of names and addresses for each contiguous property owner:
North: Marcie Larson (neighbor whose property is nearest my driveway)
2747 Lakeview Ave., Roseville (484-1153)
South: Jim Tisland
2729 Lakeview Ave., Roseville (483-3226)
West: WilliamUrie
2736 Aglen Ave., Roseville (484-2259)

12c. Proposed plan: See Attachment B.

12d. Narrative:
My asphalt driveway is falling apart and needs to be replaced. We propose to remove and
replace the existing driveway, front walk, and step by the back door. The new driveway
will merely replace the existing one and not be any closer to the property line. The
current driveway is approximately 3.5 feet from the northern property line (this is based
on information provided by the City Engineer, who measured a map for me - the longest
distance I could measure from a fence to the edge of the driveway is 4 feet 3 inches. I
could not locate the lot markers). Since the new driveway will improve the appearance
and value of my property, the resulting impact on the neighborhood will be to enhance its
appearance, as well.
Response to Item 9: Alternatives considered: The only alternative I can think of is to
make the driveway narrower than it currently is. However, this is not very practical as it
would likely result in my driving on the grass next to the new driveway. The current
driveway is already quite narrow (we can't move the house, which is on the side away
from the property line in question).
Response to Item 10: The following sub-items are true: b, c, d, e, f, g, i, and j. (I assume
that the word "structure" can apply to a driveway.) Item h is true in so far as it applies to
the house and garage, because they will not be altered. Items k and 1 do not apply, since
this permit application references a driveway.
Response to Item 11: The proposed driveway meets criteria a and c. Criterion d could
also be invoked if necessary: If the existing driveway were closer than two (2) feet to the
property line, a setback permit could still be issued to replace it because the driveway
existed prior to October 26, 1998. I assume that the front setback requirement of criterion
b does not apply, since the driveway must extend all the way to the street. The driveway
will end more than twenty-four (24) feet from the rear property line.
