01llneIr JReaSOIl11S 1forr 1lln~ JR~qj\llles1 1fOIr Varrfiam~~

Our storage shed, which came with the house, is unsightly. It is located very close to the
northeast property line, and thus our neighbor's property. The storage shed was built by
the previous owners to alleviate space limitations in the garage. The shed is elevated
approximately twelve (12") inches off the ground making it impossible for my wife to
access it or use it. Neither we nor or our neighbor are pleased with the appearance of the
storage shed, which our neighbor refers to as a "chicken coop". Please refer to enclosec
pictures.

We would like to consolidate the items stored in the storage shed in a larger garage. This
will not only improve handicapped accessibility to the garage and the items currently
stored in the storage shed. It will also improve the functionality of the house, and allow
our son to park his vehicle in the garage rather than in the driveway. In addition, it wiH
improve the looks of our house and our property (and our neighbors' property) by giving
it a more unified, and less cluttered look.

As part of the project, we intend to replace the existing wood fence located along the
northeast property line with a new wood fence. Budget permitting, we would also like to
add on to the family room, and potentially change the materials on the street side of the
house. In addition, we intend to relocate the front walk and enhance the landscaping in
front of the house. (Please refer to the enclosed plans and elevations).

O~llneIr An~eIrIl11a~nves

We have not explored other alternatives, because we do not believe there are any feasible
alternatives to achieve the primary objective of the project, which is to improve
handicapped accessibility to the garage.

JExlPnaIl11a~fioIl11 o1f Sfi~e C<<J)mJln1nmm!

The proposed project will enhance handicapped accessibility of the house. The
functionality and livability of the house also will be improved significantly. Furthermore,
we believe that the project will enhance the value of our property and the properties of
our neighbors by giving our house and property a less cluttered look.

The proposed building and driveway addition cover approximately 604 square feet. The
existing house, driveway, sidewalk and patio cover an area of apPJrOximately 4,890
square feet. The lot is approximately 19,134 square feet. Thus, the existing
improvements along with the proposed project retains a minimum of 70% of the pervious
surface and green space of the lot, as follows:

Existing lot size:
Existing impervious surface
Existing pervious surface

19,134 square feet
4,890 square feet
14,244 square feet

._..__,'_..,_.
