Regular Planning Commission Meeting <br />Minutes – Wednesday, December 05, 2012 <br />Page 2 <br />MOTION <br />37 <br />Member Boerigter moved, seconded by Member Cunningham moved to ratify the <br />38 <br />following regular Planning Commission meeting dates for 2013: <br />39 <br />January 2 May 1 September 4 <br />40 <br />February 6 June 5 October 2 <br />41 <br />March 6 November 6 <br />July 10 <br />42 <br />April 3 August 7 December 4 <br />43 <br />Ayes: 6 <br />44 <br />Nays: 0 <br />45 <br />Motion carried. <br />46 <br />Informational Report by Staff <br />47 <br />City Planner Paschke noted in agenda packet materials a Request for City Council Action <br />48 <br />dated December 3, 2012, and deferral to the City Council docket in January of 2013 at the <br />49 <br />request of the City Council, for consideration of various city code text amendments. Mr. <br />50 <br />Paschke noted that the majority of the recommended amendments were minor and/or <br />51 <br />technical in nature; and had been found through staff’s practical application since initial <br />52 <br />adoption of the revised code. <br />53 <br />Mr. Paschke noted several revisions that remained pending at this time, including the <br />54 <br />shoreline ordinance, subdivision ordinance, sexual oriented business code, and other <br />55 <br />items for potential modification as the City revisions the Twin Lakes Redevelopment Area <br />56 <br />in the future. <br />57 <br />Mr. Paschke advised that the intent of this preliminary information was to alert the <br />58 <br />Planning Commission to potential items coming before it in the next eighteen (18) months, <br />59 <br />if the text amendments received support from the City Council; and would then proceed <br />60 <br />through the Planning Commission Public Hearing and recommendation process. <br />61 <br />Mr. Paschke asked that, if individual Planning Commission members observed any other <br />62 <br />areas for further review or consideration, they alert staff to include that in upcoming <br />63 <br />meetings. Mr. Paschke noted one revision discussed at tonight’s Variance Board meeting <br />64 <br />for the need to revisit City Ordinance to provide more flexible language and include <br />65 <br />industry updates and requirements for solar energy installations. <br />66 <br />At the request of Chair Boerigter, Mr. Paschke advised that at this time there was only one <br />67 <br />case for the January 2013 Commission meeting for an Interim Use Permit. <br />68 <br />6.
