The Veritas site is located between 1- 35W and
Cleveland Avenue, north of County Road C. An EA W was prepared in 1985 for the Centre
Pointe Business Park. An additional EA W was prepared in 1997 fo~ the area when the developer
changed. Veritas bought the southern 16 acres and is proposing to add 183,330 square feet of
office space to the approved project. This is a voluntary EA W sub.Q1ittal that notes previous
EA W findings. ' ' ,

The staff review has concluded that the EA W is 'complete 'and' accurate with respect to, regional
concerns and raises no major issues of consistency with Council policies. An EIS is not
necessary for regional purposes. However, Council staff offer the following advisory comments
for your consideration.

Regional Parks and Open Space

There are no Regional Parks or Trails in the immediate area. There may be an opportunity for
the city to work with the project to connect the existing internal paved walking trail to
Roseville's Langton Lake Park. This would provide the employees the benefit of having access
to a green space to walk or have lunch at during nice weather.

Item 9. - There is a DNR wetland to the immediate south of the property and one to the north
east of the property. In order to minimize the project's impact and to enhance the natural
resources of the area it would be helpful to restore native vegetation around these wetlands and
to provide native vegetatibn around the new storm ponds propos'edfor the development. Native
vegetation provides better water filtration and some potential for bird and wildlife habitat. The
restored wetlands, cOI)ll~cted .st<?~ ponds and native vegetated green space would be more, ,
effectjve than tyPical1awn 'and storm ponds with turf mowed to 'tl1~ir edg~: _,','
. .. -. ~. . .
