Dennis Welsh, Community Development Director
March 1,2001
Page 2

Item 10 - The plan calls for 11.1 acres of "lawn." Instead of typical "lawn," the landscaping
could include native trees, shrubs, forbs and grasses planted to help slow down stonnwater,
provide filtration of pollutants as well as moderate the temperatures of stormwater, thereby,
minimizing the negative impacts of the additional hard surfaces added to the site.

This will conclude the Council's review of the EA W. The Council will take no fonnal action on
the EA W.

If you have any questions or need further infonnation, please contact Sandra Pinel, principal
reviewer and sector representative, at 651-602-1513 or bye-mail at
sandra. pinel@metc.state.mn.us.

Sincerely,

l~~

Helen Boyer r--
Director, Environmental Services

cc: Sherry Narusiewicz, Supervisor, MnDOT Metro Division
Roger Williams, Metropolitan Council District 11
Keith Buttleman, Director, MCES Environmental Planning and Evaluation Department
Eli Cooper, Director, MCCD Planning and Growth Management Department
Jack Frost, MCES Environmental Planning & Evaluation Department
Sandra Pinel, Sector Representative and Principal Reviewer

V :\LIBRAR Y\COMMUNDV\REFERRAL\LETTERS\OOLetters\rosevilleveritaseaw,doc
