Call to Order: <br />5 <br /> <br />6 <br />Chair Bakeman called the May 4, 2005 meeting of the City of Roseville Variance Board <br />7 <br />to order at 6:00 p.m., in the Council Chambers of the City Hall. <br />8 <br /> <br />9 <br />2. Roll Call: <br />10 <br /> <br />11 <br />Present: Bakeman, Boerigter, Pust, Doherty (Alt.) <br />12 <br /> Absent: None <br />13 <br /> Staff present: Thomas Paschke, Dennis Welsch <br />14 <br /> <br />15 <br />Procedure: Minutes are to reflect members and alternates at the meeting. Items will be <br />16 <br />voted on in “numbers”, not names, unless there is a roll call. <br />17 <br /> <br />18 <br />3. Approval of Minutes: <br /> <br />19 <br /> <br />20 <br />a. Motion: <br /> Motion by Member Pust, seconded by Member Bakeman, to approve the <br />21 <br />minutes of March 2, 2005, as submitted. <br />22 <br /> <br />23 <br /> Ayes: 2 <br />24 <br /> Nays: 0 <br />25 <br /> Abstain: 1 <br />26 <br /> Motion carried 2-0-1. <br />27 <br /> <br />28 <br />b. Motion: <br /> Motion by Member Boerigter, seconded by Member Bakeman, to approve <br />29 <br />the minutes of the Special Meeting held March 23, 2005. <br />30 <br /> <br />31 <br />Ayes: 3 <br />32 <br />Nays: 0 <br />33 <br />Motion carried 3-0. <br />34 <br /> <br />35 <br />4. Public Hearings: <br />36 <br /> <br />37 <br />a. Planning File 3635:Request by Target Corporation, 1515 County Road B, for <br /> <br />38 <br />a Variance to Section 1009 of the Roseville City Code to allow the installation <br />39 <br />of ground signs at the new SuperTarget and Perkins Restaurant. <br /> <br />40 <br /> <br />41 <br />Chair Bakeman opened the hearing and requested staff provide a verbal summary of the project <br />42 <br />report dated May 4, 2005. <br />43 <br /> <br />44 <br />City Planner, Thomas Paschke, advised that Target Corporation is seeking approval of multiple <br />45 <br />variances to Section 1009 (Sign Regulations) for the new Super Target and Perkins restaurant to <br />46 <br />allow the installation of three ground signs, two that exceed the height limitation of eight beet and <br />47 <br />one that is less than the required setback of 15 feet. Specifically, Target Corporation seeks to <br />48 <br />install three signs. They include: <br />49 <br /> <br />50 <br /> A 20 foot tall multi-tenant (3 tenants) ground sign with approximately 100 sq. ft. of sign <br />o <br />51 <br />area, sign to be installed adjacent to Snelling Avenue. <br />Page 1 of 7 <br /> <br />
