Call to Order: <br />4 <br />5 <br />6 Chair Bakeman called the July 6, 2005 meeting of the City of Roseville Variance <br />7 Board to order at 6:00 p.m., in the Council Chambers of the City Hall. <br />8 <br />2. Roll Call: <br />9 <br />10 <br />11 Present: Bakeman, Boerigter, Pust <br />12 Absent: None <br />13 Staff present: Thomas Paschke <br />14 <br />3. Approval of Minutes: <br />15 <br />16 <br />a. <br />17 Chair Bakeman provided the City Planner with an amendment to Page 2, Line <br />18 38 (insert the word “day” between “ten” and “appeal” and approved the June 1, <br />19 2005 minutes as amended. <br />20 <br />21 Ayes: 3 <br />22 Nays: 0 <br />23 Motion carried. <br />24 <br />4. Public Hearing: <br />25 <br />26 <br /> <br />a.Planning File 3646:Request by William Dahlke for a Variance to <br />27 <br />Section 1004.016 (Residential Dimensional Requirements – Corner Side <br />28 <br />Yard Setback) of the Roseville City Code to allow construction of a <br />29 <br />detached accessory structure (garage) within the 30 foot required <br />30 <br />setback for property at 1244 Sandhurst Drive. <br />31 <br />32 <br />33 Chair Bakeman opened the hearing and requested staff provide a verbal summary of the <br />34 project report dated July 6, 2005. <br />35 <br />36 City Planner, Thomas Paschke, advised that Mr. Dahlke has submitted a proposal to <br />37 construct a 20 foot by 20 foot (400 sq. ft.) detached accessory structure (garage) in the <br />38 required side yard setback area that lies adjacent to Merrill Street. Section 1004.016 <br />39 (Residential Dwelling Dimensions – Corner Side Yard Setback) requires a 30 foot <br />40 minimum setback for all structures from a property line adjacent to a public street in a <br />41 corner lot situation. <br />42 <br />43 The existing principal structure currently lies 5 feet from the property line adjacent to <br />44 Merrill Street and Mr. Dahlke seeks to place the detached garage 10 feet from the home <br />45 and in line with the home to limit the loss of the rear yard and place the detached garage <br />46 closer to the home. <br />Page 1 of 6 <br /> <br />
