<br />7.0 STAFF RECOMMENDATION <br /> <br />7.1 The staff recommends approval of the Roselawn Cemetery conditional use permit to <br />allow construction of a 1,800 square foot crematory structure and associated <br />parking access improvements, based on Sections 4 and 5 and the conditions listed in <br />Section 6 of the project report dated July 11,2001. <br /> <br />8.0 PLANNING COMMISSION ACTION <br /> <br />8.1 On July 11, 2001, the Roseville Planning Commission reopened the public hearing <br />regarding the Roselawn Cemetery CUP request. A number of adjacent residents <br />addressed the Commission asking questions and providing comments on Roselawn <br />Cemetery's request to place up to two crematories within a structure on the premises <br />adjacent the existing garage and chapel. <br /> <br />8.2 The Commission was supplied with the information they requested at their June 13 <br />meeting. They had additional questions of Rosel awn Cemetery and of staff regarding the <br />proposal to provide further clarification. <br /> <br />8.3 The Commission recommended (7-0) to approve the request by Roselawn Cemetery for a <br />CUP to allow construction of an 1,800 square foot crematory structure subject to the <br />conditions listed in Section 6 (as modified (underlined) by the Commission) ofthe <br />project report dated July 11,2001 and added the condition of reviewing the CUP with <br />notice to all residents within 350 feet, two years after the occupancy permit is issued for <br />the facility. <br /> <br />9.0 SUGGESTED CITY COUNCIL ACTION <br /> <br />Adopt a resolution to approve (approve w/modifications or deny) the request by Roselawn <br />Cemetery for a conditional use permit to allow construction of an 1,800 square foot <br />crematory structure and associated parking access improvements at 803 Larpenteur <br />Avenue, subject to the conditions listed in Section 6 of the project report dated July 23, <br />2001. <br /> <br />Prepared by: Thomas Paschke <br /> <br />Attachments: narrative, site plan, location map, aerial photo, and correspondence from Department of Health and <br />"All Crematories". <br />60-Day Schedule: Application accepted on May 7, 2001.
