<br />The purpose of this course is acquaint the students with Western physical <br />diagnostic processes combining history taking, physical examination and <br />differential diagnosis. Common physical examinations of the skin, head and <br />neck, eyes, ears, nose and throat, thorax and lungs, heart and neck vessels, <br />peripheral vascular system and lymphatic system, abdomen, muscular and <br />skeletal system, neurological system, male genitalia, female genitalia/breast will <br />be introduced and covered. <br /> <br />2305 <br /> <br />Medical Tui Na <br /> <br />2 credits/30 hours <br /> <br />Introduces the principles and techniques of the traditional Chinese physical <br />therapy known as Tui Na. Students are trained to a level of basic proficiency in <br />the treatment of structural and soft-tissue injury and dysfunction. Students learn <br />how to deal with common health problems including general health, shoulder, <br />neck, abdominal, common-cold, and headache protocols. Training is intended to <br />develop the students' physical approach to bodywork as a primary or <br />complementary modality in their practice. <br /> <br />2306 <br /> <br />Clinical Observation VI <br /> <br />2 credits/60 hours <br /> <br />A continuation of2206. <br /> <br />3101 <br /> <br />TCM Internal Medicine <br /> <br />4 credits/60 hours <br /> <br />This course focuses on discussion of about 30 commonly seen diseases in TCM <br />internal medicine which are treated with herbal medicine.
