<br />EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of <br />Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota, was duly held on the 26th day of June 2000, at 6:30 <br />p.m. <br /> <br />The following members were present: <br />and the following were absent: <br /> <br />introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br /> <br />Member <br /> <br />RESOLUTION <br /> <br />RESOLUTION APPROVING A VARIANCE TO SECTION 1004.02D5 (DWELLING <br />DIMENSIONS AND APPEARANCES AND HEIGHT, FRONTAGE, YARD AND LOT <br />AREA REQillREMENTS IN R-l DISTRICTS) FOR PROPERTY LOCATED AT 2335 <br />DALE STREET (PF 3319). <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City of Roseville Fire Department has requested approval of a lot line <br />variance to allow an eight (8) foot encroachment into a comer side yard to allow for the <br />construction of a safety exit stairway from the second level to exterior ground floor, at the Fire <br />Department Station #3,2335 Dale Street, said property being legally described as: <br /> <br />The South 30 feet of the North 164 feet of the East 325 feet except the South 3 feet of the West 78 <br />feet thereof of Lot 12, Copes Subdivision of Lot 1 of Copes Subdivision of the Southeast Quarter <br />of Section 11, Township 29, Range 23, Ramsey County, according to the plat thereof <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 1004.02D requires a 30 ITont yard setback for all principle <br />structures; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the 8 foot wide, by 19 feet long, stairwell would be located 8 feet into the <br />required 30 foot rear yard setback (with a remaining setback of22' to the north property line); <br />and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, in order to meet state and city building and life safety codes the fire station <br />is required to have a second stair well and the Fire Department has demonstrated the need for <br />dormitory capacity on the second level of the Station; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the City and Fire staff have determined that no other side ofthe building <br />meets the code for separation <br /> <br />NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Planning Commission, based on <br />findings as indicated in the June 13,2001 project report hereby recommends, to the City <br />Council, approval of the request, by the Roseville Fire Department, for an eight foot comer side <br />yard setback variance ITom Section 1004.02D5 subject to the following conditions: <br /> <br />Page lof2 <br />
