McCalrmns Blvd. is located directly across the <br />street from the Minnesotal Army National GQJard Recmiting and Retention <br />Command Center. The entire front of the property faces the Center. <br /> <br />A valrialnce to the fence height restriction of four feet for the fence located at the <br />front of our lot is being requested to reduce the visual, noise and traffic impact of <br />activities that take p~ace at the Naltional Guard Center across the street. These <br />activities include, but are not necessalri~y limited to the following: <br /> <br />PaJrking of NaltionaJl GUaJro member vehnc~es in front of the Nationa~ <br />Guard Center building alS well as along the street on N. McCarrons <br />!Slvd. in front of our house. The City of Rosevme recognized the <br />excess traffic alnd palrk~ng impact that the Center would put on the <br />neighborhood by widening tile street in front of our property to include <br />on-street parking for vehic!es. <br /> <br />Assembly and exercise activities of National! Guard units, inc!uding <br />both peop~e and equipment during weekend training sessions. <br /> <br />Mobilization off Na~ionaJ~ GUaJm1 \!ehic~es and equipment for training <br />sessions. <br /> <br />The facility is also used for events alnd alctivit~es by various third paqr <br />groups. Examples of ihese groups include gun shows, ethnic group <br />gjaiherings, youth group activities, etc. Ma~y of these events and <br />alctM~ies create the Salme visual, noise and ~uaffic impacts as Nationa! <br />Guard ac~i\!ities. <br /> <br />Therefore, we believe thalt the u~ique circumstances of the bJJi~ding ~enants and <br />their uses of the facility across the street from our property warrants the granting <br />of a variance to the fence height restriction for ~he fence located at the front of <br />our property. ~n this waJY, we are aJb~e to reduce and mi~imize the visual, noise <br />and traffic impact from the events and activities that are caused by conditions <br />beyond our control. <br />
