~;~ WHEREAS, the City Code would allow an 832 square foot detached accessory structure on the premises without the need for a conditional use permit and a ( one) 120 square foot garden shed for a total of 1,023 square feet of accessory building storage space; and WHEREAS, the Community Development Staff has considered the impacts of multiple accessory structures on the parcel and determined that an alternative solution of one larger structure is more efficient than constructing a smaller garage and placing a garden shed somewhere on the property and that an accessory structure 1008 square feet in size eliminates the need for a second structure (garden shed or larger); and WHEREAS, All ofthe adjacent property owners except one have signed a letter supporting the Boucher request; and WHEREAS, the Roseville Planning Commission held a public hearing regarding the Boucher variance request and recommended (7-0) to approve the request, based on comments and findings outlined in Section 3, 4, and 6 of the project report dated 8/27/01. NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, by the Roseville City Council, to grant Fred and Laurie Boucher a 108 square foot variance to Section 1004.01A3 of the Roseville City Code allowing the construction of a 1,008 square foot detached accessory building in the rear yard, based on the comments and findings in Section 3, 4, and 6 of the project report dated 8/27/01 for property located a 1166 Laurie Road. The motion for the adoption of the foregoing resolution was duly seconded by Council Member Maschka and upon vote being taken thereon, the following voted in favor: Klausing, Mastel, Maschka, Kysylyczyn and the following voted against: Goedeke WHEREUPON said resolution was declared duly passed and adopted. 2
