Brokke <br />58suggested considering topics that are forward thinking yet applicable to current needs/interests and <br />59using this time to communicate timely information. Brokke talked through potential topics <br />60including; <br />61Deer Population Management – timely. Does the Council want the Commission to so some <br />62work on this issue? <br />63Historical Society Home –Members of the Historical Society have been in contact with the <br />64Architecture program at Globe College and have collected information on a phased site <br />65development program. Historical Society members are also exploring possible grant <br />66opportunities to help support the project. Additional City supported funding needs to be <br />67discussed. <br />68Community Center – during the last few years, the Council has asked the Commission to <br />69continue to explore, consider and research topics related to a Roseville Community Center – <br />70does the Council want the Commission to work on this topic at this time? <br />71D. Holt inquired into what other Commissioners felt were the most appropriate topics to <br />72speak with the Council about at this time, he will take into consideration this discussion and <br />73meet with staff about what might be the most appropriate discussion at this time. <br />74Commissioner Stoner asked that the Park Board discussion be added to the list for future <br />75Council updates. <br />76 <br />PARKS & RECREATION RENEWAL PROGRAM STATUS <br />777. <br />78Brokke shared the current Project Progress Report for the Renewal Program. <br />79Doneen asked that staff and Commission consider pursuing a partnership with the school <br />80district to manage the property at the Fairview Community Center as a park. <br />81Brokke will speak with City Manager about having a conversation with School district <br />82administration on this topic. <br />83 <br />STAFF REPORT <br />848. <br />85Brokke provided the following updates: <br />86Photos of new understory growth at Langton Lake Park following Buckthorn removal, <br />87Emerald Ash cleanup and storm damage during the past 18 months. A healthy green habitat <br />88is beginning to establish itself in the area. <br />89Villa Park has had quite a bit of Natural Resource Management work done recently resulting <br />90in marked changes to various areas in the park. The work has resulted in the removal of <br />91Buckthorn and other invasive plants. Areas will be planted/seeded with native plantings. <br />92Staff has heard from a number of park users inquiring into what has taken place in the park. <br /> <br />
