In order for Lydia Avenue to have sufficient traffic volumes to meet warrants for traffic
signal installation, there may be a need to alter the North Centre Pointe Drive/Cleveland
Avenue intersection to direct traffic to the Lydia Avenue intersection. Two options exist
at the North Centre Pointe Drive/Cleveland Avenue intersection that require construction
of a raised center island rrom Brenner Avenue to County Road D. One option is to limit
the North Centre Point Drive approach to Cleveland Avenue to right turns only (~
access). A second option that exists is to prohibit left turns to northbound Cleveland
Avenue (J,4 access). This option would require an expanded radius in the southwest
comer of the intersection to ensure that left turns to the north do not occur through the
median break provided for left turns rrom Cleveland Avenue to North Centre Pointe
Drive. The City and County will need to evaluate installation of traffic signal control
along Cleveland Avenue and any changes to North Centre Pointe Drive in terms of their
goals and policies.

Centre Pointe Business Park

-17 -

January 15,2001
