Lexington Avenue
Roseville, Minnesota 55113

Dear Sir:

The executive committee of Calvary Baptist Church presents the
following position statement on the request for a curb cut from the
Bridgeman property onto Burke Avenue. We believe this statement is
made with the best interests of the community, our neighbors, Bridgeman's
and the church in view.

1 . A curb cut onto Burke Avenue as it
benefit any of the parties to be effected.
the Bridgeman property will only complicate
concerned.

is now constituted will not
Such an ingress or egress on
the traffic pattern for all

2. The church opposes and will take steps to prohibit its parking
lo~ from becoming a thoroughfare to and from Parker Avenue as a relief
to the congestion at Burke and Lexington.

3. We restate a proposal set forth by the church at the time of the
rezoning of the Bridgeman property. The proposal provided that Burke,
Avenue be widened by one lane from the border of the Bridgeman property
out to Lexington Avenue, that a curb cut be granted onto Burke Avenue,
and that this new lane would allow only a right turn onto Lexington
Avenue. An easement is now provided for this proposal. Parking would
not be permitted on Burke Avenue adjacent to Bridgeman's or the church.

4. Dead End, Right Turn Only, No Parking and No Thoroughfare signs
should be erected as appropriate and enforced.

5. We further suggest that the west lane of Lexington Avenue
be extended two to three hundred feet to facilitate the flow of
southbound traffic coming off the intersection of Lexington Avenue and
County Road B.

~~~
Charles Schwab
MQ~Y~
J1~Ck Krause
Vice-Moderator
~~~

Chairman~ard

~~Glader
Chairman, Trustee Board

~

~lE(f;lEgWIEIDJ

AUG231971

OFFICE ~f VILLAGE CLERK
Rosevllle, Minnesota

......
