With the improvement of Lexington Avenue increased volumes could be expected. Although these volumes could be handled better with an upgraded street facility. According to the county engineer~office they are hoping that this cons~ruction would take place in the next few years. The officials of the Lexington Elementary School advised me that ~here are approximately 12 walkers. This is approximately 10 per cent of the schools enrollment. To the best of ~ knowledge school patrols and a teacher assist children who have to cross the street at the intersection of Lexington and Cty Rd B. The only business at the Lexington-Cty Rd B intersection area that generate considerable traffic is the super market at the Northeast courner. The other businesses are two service stations, a automotive garage and a ?lumbing suppl:Les store. The Calvary Baptist Church has submitted a plan whereby they would exit Cfi\il'C:. ':,raffic onto Burke and Parker avenues. . , , I.L :.onclusions 1. The Ramsey County Traffic Engineer, Mr. Bill Chenoweth, has advised me "that if "t.h3 properties in question were zoned to accomm.odate the proposed developments they would issue drivew~ permits on Cty Rd B and Lexington as per the pJan submitted. It was his feeling that these driveways wouldn~ t cause any more problems than now exist. The requested driveways would be located further from the intersection than existing driveways are. 2. The 'school Children walkingto and from Lexington school would not be ~n conflict with the traffic expected to be generated from the proposed develop- ment. It would be expected that the heavy traffic would take place after 4 P.M. and possibly on the weekends.
