Attachment C <br />City of Roseville <br />ORDINANCE NO. ____ <br />1 <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SELECTED TEXT OF TITLE 10 ZONING ORDINANCE <br />2 <br />OF THE ROSEVILLE CITY CODE <br />3 <br />THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE ORDAINS: <br />4 <br /> SECTION 1. Purpose: <br />The Roseville City Code is hereby amended to revise the requirements <br />5 <br />for parking lot lighting. <br />6 <br />SECTION 2. §1019.11.I Lighting, is hereby eliminated in its entirety as follows: <br />7 <br />Lighting: <br />I.Required parking areas for six or more vehicles shall provide an average horizontal <br />8 <br />illumination between 0.4 and 1.0 foot-candle. The average horizontal illumination in all parking <br />9 <br />ramps shall be 1.0 foot-candle. Any illumination, whether affixed to a building or otherwise, <br />10 <br />within a lot in any residential district, shall not be permitted to beam beyond the lot lines wherein <br />11 <br />it is located. <br />12 <br />SECTION 3. §1011.11.E Parking Lot Lighting, is hereby amended as follows: <br />13 <br />E. Parking Lot Lighting: The following standards for on-site lighting of parking lots shall be <br />14 <br />required for all uses. <br />15 <br />1. Fixtures: Lighting fixtures shall be of a downcast, cutoff type, concealing the light source from <br />16 <br />view and preventing glare unless decorative and utilized for pedestrian safety. <br />17 <br />2. Minimum Lighting Levels: Energy efficient lighting systems shall be employed for all exterior <br />18 <br />lighting. Minimum lighting levels, measured at a height of 5 feet above the grade, for parking <br />19 <br />facilities shall be as follows: <br />20 <br />a. Covered Parking Facilities (Day): <br />21 <br />i. General parking and pedestrian areas: 5 foot-candles <br />22 <br />ii. Ramps/corners: 10 foot-candles <br />23 <br />iii. Entrances/exits: 50 foot-candles <br />24 <br />iv. Stairwells: 20 foot-candles <br />25 <br />b. Covered Parking Facilities (Night): <br />26 <br /> i. General parking and pedestrian areas: 5 foot-candles <br />27 <br /> ii. Ramps/corners: 5 foot-candles <br />28 <br /> iii. Entrances/exits: 5 foot-candles <br />29 <br /> iv. Stairwells 20 foot-candles <br />30 <br />c. Open Parking Areas: <br />31 <br />vehicle,0.4 to 1 foot-candle <br /> i General parking, and pedestrian areas: 0.9 foot-candle <br />32 <br /> ii Vehicle use areas: 1 foot-candle <br />33 <br />34 <br />SECTION 3. Effective Date. <br />This ordinance amendment to the Roseville City Code shall take <br />35 <br />effect upon passage and publication. <br />36 <br />Passed this 10th day of November, 2014 <br />37 <br />
