Since it is from a Committee it would not require a second.
58
59
Chair Groff stated this would be the first year so if there were things that needed to be changed
60
these could be done as the program progresses.
61
62
Commissioner Bachhuber asked if the Commission was supportive of a deadline for nominations
63
to be in April or May.
64
65
Commissioner Slade stated the Committee was trying to time the recognition or award with
66
Rosefest, which is at the end of June.
67
68
Commissioner Thao stated the Commission does not typically meet in July.
69
70
After discussion it was the consensus of the Commission to look at an application deadline in
71
April.
72
73
Commissioner Bachhuber suggested removing the sentence “Thinking that this is before people
74
are in summer mode but not near the HR essay contest deadline.” under Application deadline.
75
She also recommended keeping the sentence “For example, we could make it a part of something
76
larger going on in Rosefest (i.e. Rosefest parade).” under Award Winners and removed the
77
sentence “This is a new award and process – we’re sure to encounter unforeseen evaluation
78
factors.” under Consideration for Nominee Evaluation.
79
80
Motion
The Proposal for the HRC Recognition of Individuals as amended was called to a vote.
81
passed unanimously.
82
83
Chair Groff asked what the next steps would be in this process.
84
85
Ms. Collins stated she would work with Commissioner Bachhuber to determine how this would
86
be communicated to the public.
87
88
