The Shoreview Human <br />279 <br />Rights community dialogue on “Bullying in Our Community” will be on Thursday, November 6 <br />280 <br />at the Shoreview Community Center at 6:30 p.m. There will be a light meal served so they are <br />281 <br />requesting RSVPs to Rebecca Olson at rolson@shoreviewmn.gov. <br />282 <br />283 <br />Commissioner Singleton stated he planned on attending the event in Shoreview and he would <br />284 <br />provide a report to the Commission. <br />285 <br />286 <br />Ms. Collins stated she had made contact with Deb Bell with U.S. District Courts and she would <br />287 <br />be interested in doing another Naturalization Ceremony in Roseville in the spring. <br />288 <br />289 <br />290 <br />Staff Report <br />291 <br />a.Finance Update and Discussion <br />292 <br />b.Other Items <br />293 <br />294 <br />Ms. Collins provided the HRC with a financial update. <br />295 <br />296 <br />Commissioner Slade suggested looking at brining donations to the community. Ms. Collins had <br />297 <br />suggested t-shirts for the parade next year. <br />298 <br />299 <br />Commissioner Carey stated when she discussed the Karen Organization with Ms. Watts at the <br />300 <br />Library and she would be interested in bringing Karen reading materials and this could be <br />301 <br />something the Commission could donate for. <br />302 <br />303 <br />Commissioner Singleton suggested making a decision at the next meeting. <br />304 <br />305 <br />Commissioner Bachhuber suggested renting a bus and taking members of the Karen community <br />306 <br />on a tour of the City and take them to places such as the library, the parks and City Hall. She <br />307 <br />asked if there were other groups that the Commission could work with as well. <br />308 <br />309 <br />Commissioner Thao agreed that there were other communities within the City that do have <br />310 <br />needs. She could provide some additional information at the next meeting. <br />311 <br />
