(Bloomington mentioned). It is difficult to get quality tenants when
they don't know how long they will have to look at something junky
next door.
· One of the biggest risks of redevelopment is the commitment to what
is going to happen next door.

November 1,20006:30 pm
Neighborhood/Resident Comments

General:
. Quality of life very important, should be the main focus of the plans
· Many of the amenities would be used by the office workers, not the
residents (particularly a health club)
. This is a good idea, we have to adapt to the traffic because of our
location as a first ring suburb.
. This has been years of work; we cannot give up on it now.

Environment:
· Create better buffers - especially green space and vegetation from
Twin Lakes; leave much of the existing vegetation near the lakes
(even the box-elders). Avoid clear cutting and replanting.
. Avoid abrupt transition but do not isolate the neighborhood.
· Concerned about increased air pollution due to increased traffic.

Land Use
· Anything would be better than what is currently where the truck
terminals are located.
· Realize land is too valuable to leave as truck tenninals,
. Incorporate new urbanism concepts.
· Provide more low density housing (town homes or single family, not
large apartment projects) as buffers and over more of the area. Keep
wetlands preserved. Do not want low-income housing or apartments.
Elderly housing is also positively perceived.

Pathways/Sidewalks:
. Not enough sidewalks.
. Likes seeing workers on path during daytime.

Roads:

5
