General City Goals & Policies Related to Business Gmw~h a.nd! ~he <br />Redevelopment of Property <br /> <br />Support Business Development that Increases the Tax Base and Adds Quality Jobs <br /> <br />o Encourage quality business and industrial development where such business <br />and industry can contribute social, economic, and aesthetic value to the <br />community. <br /> <br />(t Encourage high intensity use of remaining industrial land, especially west of <br />I-35W and north of County Road B-2, to achieve maximum efficiency and a <br />stable tax base. <br /> <br />o Give priority to City and County State Aid roads in major industrial (and <br />commercial) areas to give maximum assistance to development of such <br />properties as a means of improving the tax base. <br /> <br />Strive for Beautification & Quality Design: <br /> <br />(j) Eliminate blight and prevent deterioration of buildings and infrastructure. <br />Strive for better aesthetic appeal with the use of quality design standards for <br />new development and redevelopment. <br /> <br />ED Review all commercial development site plans to ensure quality design, the <br />completion of an adequate amount of site landscaping, and beautification. <br /> <br />o Maintain and upgrade currently established development standards, such as <br />setbacks, lot sizes, and placing appropriate emphasis on the life safety code. <br /> <br />o Encourage construction quality in adaptable buildings and grounds <br />consistent with City development standards.
