3.2 The Minor Variance Committee reviewed this request on June 2, 1997, and unanimously recommended approval of a minor variance to allow the placement of a residential driveway less then 30 feet from the right-of-way of the intersection of Minnesota Avenue Wand Western Avenue N at 2270 Western Avenue N, based on the following findings: 1. The existing driveway is located right at the intersection of the right-of-way of Minnesota Avenue N and Western Avenue N. 2. A public improvement project being undertaken in 1997 (P-97-02) will involve the disturbance of the boulevard at 2270 Western Avenue N. 3. Three mature oak and elm trees, as well as numerous bushes, would need to be removed in order to move the driveway the required 30 feet from the intersection. 4. The proposed variance is in harmony with the general purpose and intent of the City's Comprehensive Plan and Title 10 of the City Code (Zoning). 5. The variance, if granted, will not adversely affect the public health, safety, or general welfare. 4.0 SUGGESTED ACTION 4.1 By motion, approve David and Bonnie Ringsred's request for a minor variance to allow the relocation and placement of a residential driveway less then 30 feet from the right-of-way of the intersection of Minnesota Avenue Wand Western Avenue N at 2270 Western Avenue N based on the findings of the Minor Variance Committee outlined in section 3.2 of this report.
