e
@
@
@ Roseville encourages quality business and industrial development to locate where it can
e
e best contribute social, economic and aesthetic value to the community.
@
: As a fully developed first~ring suburb, Roseville places a strong emphasis on redevelopment.
: RoseviUe has identified areas in need of redevelopment, such as Centre Pointe, Twin Lakes
@
@ Business Park, 35W Gateway, and the Rice Street Corridor. The City maximizes its spending
@
@ on economic redevelopment by concentrating on existing industrial areas that are already
'"
'" protected from residential neighborhoods.
@
'"
'" Many of the industrial corridors that are targeted for redevelopment require some
e
@ environmental work to dean the soil. Such sites are called "brownfields," which means that
e
@ the land has real or perceived contamination from previous users and is unlikely to be
@
redeveloped without city, state, or federal financial assistance
in preparing the land for a productive new use.

The Comprehensive Plan guides targeted redevelopment from
a citywide perspective. When the City Council reviews a plan,
it consider market conditions and percentages of existing
office, industrial, retail and other uses. If residents have a
service needs not being met, the Council will promote
redevelopment to include that service.

11
