That plan <br />led to the creation of a complete municipal park system including Central Park and smaller <br />neighborhood parks and playgrounds. Today the City boasts 28 municipal parks totaling <br />537 acres. Due to the aggressive stance the City has taken on parkwbuilding, Roseville has <br />one of the premier and award~winning park systems in the nation. <br /> <br />Those kind of results don't <br />occur without planning. <br />Long before a park can be <br />built, land must be <br />designated for park land in <br />the City's official future land <br />use map. The City Council <br />and Planning Commission <br />ensured that land was set <br />aside early in the City's <br />history through their <br />Comprehensive Plans. Now <br />that aU parks are in place, <br />efforts are being made to <br />redevelop the parks for <br />today's recreation users. <br /> <br /> <br />1 <br />
