<br />CITY OF ROSEVILLE BUSINESS PARK PROGRAM <br /> <br />BUSINESS PARKS - ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUES <br /> <br />Problem Statement - Light, Odor and Noise Pollution, Highway Noise, Stormwater and <br />Natural Drainage Ways, Natural Features Preservation. <br /> <br />Goal - To create a clean, healthy and attractive environment in which to do business. <br /> <br />STRATEGY I <br /> <br />Reduce light, air, noise and visual pollution. <br /> <br />Action I-A <br /> <br />Provide adequate lighting for streets and parking areas without creating a hazard <br />for motorists or a nuisance for adjacent property owners. Require direct or <br />directly reflected light be confined to the property and lights equipped with hoods <br />or louvers to direct light downward and prevent glare from crossing property <br />boundaries. <br /> <br />STRATEGY 2 <br /> <br />Address highway-generated and vehicle noise. <br /> <br />Action 2-A <br /> <br />Develop noise reducing features especially for residential areas that are adjacent <br />to business parks by encouraging the diversion of truck traffic to the interstate <br />highway system rather than local road systems. <br /> <br />STRATEGY 3 <br /> <br />Protect, preserve and restore features, on both public and private property, which <br />significantly contribute to the character and appearance of the business parks. <br /> <br />Action 3-A <br /> <br />Utilize joint easements and purchase of development rights to preserve open <br />space adjacent to lakes parks and pedestrian areas. <br /> <br />9 <br />
