<br />REQUEST FOR CITY COUNCIL ACTION <br /> <br />DATE: 04/29/02 <br />ITEM NO: VIII. C. <br />Agenda Section: <br />CONSENT <br /> <br />A request by the Community Development Department to approve a <br />resolution for Patrick Chierello's Variance to Section 1004.01AS, allowing the <br />construction of a detached accessory building (PF3378). <br /> <br />Manager Approved: <br /> <br /> <br />1.0 REQUEST HISTORY: <br /> <br />1.1 On April 15, 2002, the Roseville City Council approved the request by Patrick Chierello <br />for variance to Section 1004.01A5 (Overall Area - not larger than house) and a <br />Conditional Use Pemlit in accordance with Section 1004.01A4 (Requirements for <br />Increased Maximum Size -larger than 864 square foot) of the Roseville City Code to <br />construct a 28 foot by 32 foot (896 square foot) detached accessory building in the rear <br />yard of property located at 2415 Dale Street. <br /> <br />1.2 The action on the variance, however, was by motion and should have been completed by <br />resolution. Variances, like conditional use permits, need to be recorded against a <br />property so that the approved action shows up in a title search. The City of Roseville <br />approved resolutions instead of a separate document and has that action recorded at <br />Ramsey County. <br /> <br />1.3 The City Planner has provided the attached resolution for the Council's review and <br />approval. <br /> <br />2.0 SUMMARY OF RECOMMENDATION: <br /> <br />2.1 The Community Development Staff recommend approval of the resolution granting Mr. <br />Patrick Chierello a variance to Section 1004.01A5 of the Roseville City Code allowing <br />the construction of an 896 square foot detached accessory structure in the rear yard of <br />property located at 2415 Dale Street, subject to the conditions indicated (same as on the <br />approved CUP resolution). <br /> <br />3.0 SUGGESTED ACTION: <br /> <br />3.1 Adopt a resolution approving a variance (attached) for Mr. Patrick Chierello, <br />granting him aneight square foot variance to Section l004.01A5 of the Roseville <br />City Code, subject to the conditions listed on said resolution. <br /> <br />Project details and recommendation on following pages. <br /> <br />Prepared by: Thomas Paschke (490-2236) <br />Attachments: Draft Resolution <br /> <br />PF3378 ReA 042902 Page 1 of 1 <br />
