<br />EXTRACT OF MINUTES OF MEETING OF THE <br />CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF ROSEVILLE <br /> <br />Pursuant to due call and notice thereof, a regular meeting of the City Council of the City of <br />Roseville, County of Ramsey, Minnesota, was held on the 29th day of April 2002, at 5:30 p.m. <br /> <br />The following members were present: <br />and the following were absent: <br /> <br />Council Member <br /> <br />introduced the following resolution and moved its adoption: <br /> <br />RESOLUTION NO. <br />A RESOLUTION APPROVING A VARIANCE TO SECTION 1004.01A5 OF THE <br />ROSEVILLE CITY CODE FOR PATRICK CHIERELLO, 2415 DALE STREET <br />ALLOWING THE CONSTRUCTION OF AN 896 SQUARE FOOT <br />ACCESSORY BUILDING (PF3378) <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Patrick Chierello, 2415 Dale Street, has requested a variance to <br />Section 1004.01A5 to construct a 28-foot by 32-foot (896 square foot) detached accessory <br />structure in his rear yard of his property legally described as: <br /> <br />The North 75 feet of the South 205 feet of part of Northeast Quarter Easterly of a <br />line running Northwesterly from a point 130 feet North and 150 feet West of the <br />Southeast corner of SD if4 to a point 205 feet North and 185 feet West of SD <br />corner, subject to Dale Street, all in Section 11, Township 29, Range 23, Ramsey <br />CountyPIDNo.112923140059. <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 1004.0 lA5 states that the overall area of an attached garage and detached <br />accessory buildings shall not exceed the dimensional footprint of the principal structure (home); and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, the Chierello proposal (896 square feet) would be 128 square feet larger <br />than the 768 square foot principal structure; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, Section 1004.01A2 allows a 120 square foot garden shed that is not <br />included in the overall calculations for accessory building space; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS, if the subject property is limited to the proposed accessory building and not <br />allowed a garden shed, the variance request is reduced form 128 square feet to 8 square feet; and <br /> <br />WHEREAS; the Roseville Planning Commission held a public hearing regarding the <br />Cheirello request on April 3, 2002, and concluded that the variance request was reasonable and <br />did meet the hardship test, and voted (5-1) to recommend approval of the 8 square foot variance, <br />subject to the following conditions: <br /> <br />A. A maximum of one accessory structure ( detached garage) size of 32 feet wide by <br />28 feet deep or 896 square feet on the site. <br /> <br />Page 1 of2 <br />
