~A f.-f fJ C{; ~ January 1, 2002 Dear neighbor, Our names are Joan and Bill Frank, and we live near you at 3141 Sandy Hook Dr., on the south shore of Lake Owasso. Our home was previously occupied by Kurt and Evelyn Cargill. We need your help. We IMJuld like to add a 3 season porch to the lake side, off the dining room to take advantage of the great view, and yet protect us from the summer insects and sometimes bad weather. To do that requires a variance from Roseville, since the porch IMJuld be 68 feet from the lake's high water mark, closer than the 75 feet normally allowed. Most of the house is well beyond the required setback, but the lake does meander closer near the east edge of the lot. The proposed porch IMJuld have the same appearance as the house, in finish, roof, and v.indows. Because of the lot, the house position and surrounding trees, it IMJuld not be visible from the street, or by either next door neighbor. We IMJuld also rebuild the present deck, because it is deteriorating badly. We think the porch IMJuld be a definite asset to the property, and ultimately the neighborhood. Your agreeing in concept v.ill allow the Roseville Planning commission to proceed v.ith our request for variance. You v.ill be advised by the city of a public hearing for the final approval.
