Community Development Department
651-490-2279 . fax: 651-490-2931

.. The fence in the front yard (that area that lies from the front property to the front of the
home) must be a maximum of four feet tall. Currently the fence in the front yard is six
feet or taller and a direct violation of Section 10 12.0283 of the Roseville City Code.

.. The front yard fence must be reduced to a maximum height of four feet. Compliance
shall occur within 30 days from receipt of this letter or staff will be forced to issue an
administrative ticket.

In summary, the fence that was installed in the front yard of your property (1897 Shady Beach
Avenue) does not meet the requirements of the City Code or the terms and conditions of the
permit issued. This section of fence must be removed or reduced to a maximum height of four
feet.

Further the fence installed in the side yard, extending to the lakeshore may not meet the height
limitation and will need to be inspected to verify its height. The City will take into consideration
the ten"ain of the parcel when determining the height of the fence. We will look for the average
height of each panel above grade to meet the code (posts can be taller than six foot six inches).

I look forward to working on resolution of this matter and should you have any questions, please
feel free to call me at 651-490-2236.

Sincerely,

CITY of ROSEVILLE

Thomas Paschke
City Planner

cc: Don Munson, Permit Coordinator
Dennis Welsch, Community Development Director
