To whom it may concern,
Jim and I began our search for the perfect starter home 13 years ago. It took over
a year of serious house hunting before we found 2078 Irene. We have now lived
here for over 11 1/2 years and know we made the best choice. In time, this location
in Roseville and more specifically the neighborhood itself has become our "home".
Recently, it was exciting to see the renovations and updates right in this very
neighborhood 2039 & 2073 Irene and 498 Co. Rd. B. We have two young sons,
ages 6 & 8, whose lives are based here with friends in the neighborhood and a school
they've attended since preschool. I work in Brooklyn Park and my husband in St.
Paul, so the convenience of both 36 & 35E has been great. When we purchased the
home in 1991, it was the perfect starter home. Even though the house and lot are
small by today's standards, they were the norm in 1956 the year it was built. Both
of our next door neighbors, Janish and McAfee, are the original owners.
Unfortunately, the house and lot size are not normal for this day in age. Both Jim
and I have spent more than a year working on plans to renovate and update the
home we love. We both believed and still do that these plans fit into neighborhood.
It is not our wish to move to the next "ring" of suburbs, but want to see our
grandchildren enjoy Villa Park and McCarron's Lake as our children do now. We
appreciate your consideration on our variance for 2078 Irene.

~~ Ja~es Wrede

Sincerely,
