File 3420: Request by James Wrede, 2078 Irene Street, for a 4 Variance to Section 1004.01A6 (Maximum Total Surface Area) of the 5 Roseville City Code to allow construction of an addition to the rear of 6 the home. 7 8 9 Chair Duncan opened the hearing and requested City Planner Thomas Paschke 10 provide a summary of the project report dated September 42002. 11 12 Thomas Paschke explained that James & Lucy Wrede submitted an application 13 for a 638 square foot variance to Section 1004.01A6 (Maximum Total Surface 14 Area) to allow major home improvements (dining room, porch large family 15 room, and second store addition) to their home at 2078 Irene Street. The Wrede 16 home was constructed in 1956 prior to the adoption of the current zoning section 17 to the City Code. 18 19 The proposed addition to the existing principal structure's footprint (dining room, 20 porch, and family room) adds 705 square feet to the existing footprint, causing 21 the parcel to be 638 square feet out of compliance with the 30% requirement of 22 Section 1004.01A6. 23 24 Staff recommended approval of the variance with four conditions. Mr. Wrede 25 stated the staff report was acceptable. 26 27 There being no further comments, Chair Duncan closed the hearing. 28 29 Motion: Member Mulder moved, seconded by Member Peper, to 30 recommend approval of a 638 square foot (6%) variance to Section 31 1004.01A6 of the Roseville City Code for James & Lucy Wrede, to allow 32 certain home and site improvements at 2078 Irene Street, based on the 33 findings in Section 5 and conditions of Section 6 of the project report dated 34 September 4, 2002. 35 36 Ayes: 7 37 Nays: 0 38 Motion carried. 39 This matter will be heard by the City Council on September 23,2002. 40
