At this hearing the DRC discussed your proposal and the existing conditions on the property,
as well as potential impacts the existing and proposed driveway could have on the adjacent (east)
property.

The DRC recommended approval of the setback permit to allow the driveway reconstruction to occur, but
held off its conditions until the City Planner had an opportunity to discuss the proposal with the property
owner at 2280 West Highway 36. The City Planner has since met with the adjacent property owner to
determine their issues/concerns and the DRC has established its final conditions of approval for your
project. Hence, the purpose of this letter is to inform you that I concur with the reasoning set forth by the
DRC and have approved the Setback Permit.

I also concur with the DRC conditions attached to the setback permit (as I have amended and corrected
on AU2ust 12, 2002, which conditions stipulate that:

II Contractor must meet with the City Planner and/or City Sui/din!! Inspector Engineer
prior to the issuance of a permit.

II Property owner to verify the eastern western property line.

II Lower portion of driveway (that portion ff&tffh-north of the retaining wall (alld llearest
the frollta!!e road) must shift a minimum of three feet awav from the eastern western
property line.

<Ie Applicant/property owner must work with the property owner on the replacement of the
existingfcrlCe posts bard-cring the retaining ~vall and dri','eway.

2660 Civic Center Drive .:.
