<br />7.2 The City Planner stated that a lit sign is permissible under the City Code, but that the <br />applicant would need approval by Sunrise Assisted Living for such a sign and the <br />necessary electrical line. <br /> <br />7.3 The Commission asked for the details of the sign, asking if the sign would be 4'x 6' <br />and/or would the sign maintain the bright orange coloring. The applicant stated the sign <br />would be 4'x 6', maintaining the coloring to support full viewing from drivers. The <br />Commission asked if covering would be provided to cover the back/open side of the sign. <br />The applicant stated coverage of back side of sign could be an option. <br /> <br />7.4 The Commission Chairman asked that the sign be setback 5 feet from the walking path <br />due to buildup of snow during winter months and lessen the effect on pedestrians walking <br />by sign. The Chairman made a motion allowing the sign to be no closer than 5 feet to the <br />walking path, however, the motion died. <br /> <br />7.5 The Planning Commission voted (4-1) to recommend approval of a variance to Section <br />1009.03M and voted (5-0) recommending approval of a variance to SectionlO09.04A2 <br />(Multiple Family Units) of the Roseville City Code, to allow a second monument sign <br />based on the findings of Section 5 and conditions of Section 6 <br /> <br />8.0 SUGGESTED CITY COUNCIL ACTION: <br /> <br />8.1 Adopt a resolution approving a 14 foot front setback VARIANCE to Section <br />1009.03M (Ground Signs) of the Roseville City Code, based on the findings of <br />Section 5 and conditions of Section 6 of the project report dated August 18, 2003. <br /> <br />8.2 Adopt a resolution approving a VARIANCE to 1009.04A2 (Multiple Family Units) <br />of the Roseville City Code, to allow a second monument sign, based on the findings <br />of Section 5 and conditions of Section 6 of the project report dated August 18, 2003. <br /> <br />Prepared by: Thomas Paschke (651-490-2236) <br />Attachments: Location map, narrative, site plan, and aerial photo. <br />\\Victoria\CommDev\Planning Files\3500-3549\3502_Press Gym\PF3502 RCA 081803.doc <br /> <br />PF3502 - RCA 081803 - Page 5 of 5 <br />
